Mint Premium Food is a Michelin plate-rated destination foodie restaurant on Main Street, Tarrytown that has helped transform and breathe new life into the neighborhood. Hassan and Alberta Jarane, the husband-wife team behind Mint, have combined their passion for food, hospitality, and community to create a special dining experience.
Together, they have proved to have great taste, wonderful talent for hospitality and an equally great business sense. They’ve helped improve their river town community and started a family legacy.
A Dream Come True!
Hassan is from Casablanca, Morocco, and he began his career as a fashion photographer before opening Mint. He had always dreamt about opening a gourmet cheese shop with exquisite food items from across the world and combine it with a restaurant that would bustle with diverse people from across the community.
Alberta is from San Francisco, California and enjoyed a successful career in brand strategy and design that has proved essential for design, focused marketing strategy and delightful customer experience.
The Jaranes moved together from Brooklyn to Sleepy Hollow in 1999 and the River Towns have been their home and community ever since. They have two sons, Khalil and Miles that are helping to grow the business.
Lifting Up the Community!
Along with adding diversity to Main Street and helping to change the atmosphere of Tarrytow, at Mint we are intentional about promoting diversity in the businesses. The staff is a diverse group of excellent professionals that are passionate about hospitality.
We are deliberate about giving the young an opportunity. They are often passed over in the employment market. However, the young are the lifeblood of our community. That’s why we hire many students from local high schools and colleges here at Mint. We focus on training them so that they can meet the expectations of the hospitality business and our customers. We invest in the future, by growing it here.

Mint's menu features a variety of delicious Mediterranean dishes, made with the freshest, seasonal ingredients. In addition, Mint offers a wide selection of cheeses, charcuterie, wines, beers and other gourmet items. A relaxing and delightful place for a casual bite or a special occasion meal, Mint is the perfect place to go on the lively Main Street in Tarrytown.
